LO CD Released!

"LO" CD Release from Movie Score Media (with clips)

Exciting news! My 7th CD is released now! On itunes, amazon, SAE, etc. Very cool. The score is a unique quirky little thing featuring some really nice solos from my violinist friend Mark Robertson! It also has some nice little classical music quotes from Paganini and Saint Saens.. It's a fun score that I hope you get to hear.. You can hear clips on itunes or on Movie Score Media's web site (link above).. Here's the link below to the official "Lo" web site with the trailer, etc.

THE DEMON LO web site

Other than that it has been REALLY slow.. The only other interesting events was the release of "Taking Chances" by Lionsgate in November on DVD. It features about 62-min of my music. Very cute little comedy starring justin Long--- definitly worth checking out! It's at all video rental places (Blockbuster, Netflix, etc)..

Yeah, I know it's been months since my last update, I'll try to update more as things happen!

TOXIC CD RELEASED!

TOXIC is out on CD now. I'm very excited to get this one out. It has a ton of different styles,, noir-ish flute tracks, heavy percussion action, electronic grooves, horror stylings, and some intimate piano tracks. The film is a thriller, drama starring Charity Shae (she's a really nice girl), Dominique Swain (Lolita), Tom Sizemore (Saving Private Ryan), Steve Bauer (Scarface), Danny Trejo (Heat), MasterP, and so many other cool actors. The CD is on itunes and amazon---

THE DEMON, LO had it's LA Premiere and even was given the "Audience Choice Award" from Shriekfest 2009! Very cool. Kudos to all my cast and crew friends on that film,, especially the director Travis Betz who's baby this is.. Next up for LO will be a CD and DVD release sometime in the new year!

I'm about to record the score to Hollywood & Wine then mix it for a screening at AFM this year. Come on down and check it out!

Bridge To Nowhere / Taking Chances

BRIDGE TO NOWHERE finally came out on DVD this week. There is some nice music in this one. About 50-minutes to be exact. Most of my score is presented towards the end. The police raid is a lot of fun! Unfortunately, this score did not get a live orchestra (even when it was supposed to). Ultimately meaning I will not likely release it as a CD anytime soon. Maybe after a few friends give it a listen and opinion. We will see.

PATRIOTVILLE is now retitled TAKING CHANCES. This film will come out sometime around Thanksgiving. This charming little comedy has about 55-min of score and again is not a live orchestra. It seems that's the new way in Hollywood. None-the-less, this film is worth seeing.. It's very cute in the old school Michael J. Fox romantic comedy way. I sort of doubt any CD will get released on this score either. Sadly synth scores intended to be live are not really in demand and not something I would like to release anyway. Comedy scores hardly get released by record labels it seems.

Other than that I am still working on Hollywood & Wine after many months. There was a small project for the Army that came and went. It's all a wild ride in this business.

BLOGGING seems to have changed, I'm not sure how often I will update.. With FaceBook, Myspace and all the other sites-- it seems Blogs are going away fast. For now, I will continue with updates..

Thanks for checking in!

GENE GENERATION on CD NOW!

THE GENE GENERATION CD from VARESE SARABANDE.

THE GENE GENERATION was finally released by Varese Sarabande! I am very excited by this release and honored to be on such a prestigious record label. The CD is some of the best music I've written so far for a film (however they all have their special moments for me).. The score feature lot's of exotic instruments (you'll notice I did not say 'ethnic') like Viola de Gamba (medieval cello) and Zhonghu (chinese cello) with orchestral flutes and the wonderful vocals of Melissa Kaplan (from my Robotech score). It's worth checking out if you haven't already.

There was also a cool in-store signing last month with Marco Beltrami (Knowing) and Christophe Beck (Phoebe In Wonderland).

NEW PROJECTS

Well, it has been a really long time since I last blogged. Mainly because I am just so busy lately--- so here's the new projects I'm working on now..

PATRIOTVILLE (starring Justin Long, Rob Corddroy, Emmanuelle Chirqui, and so many other cool actors). This is a really charming comedy that is worth seeing when it comes out.

HOLLYWOOD & WINE (starring David Spade, Chris Kattan, Norm McDonald, Chaz Palmentari). Another comedy. This one is a lot of fun. I should be flying to Europe to record this score early this year.

... other news----

THE GENE GENERATION was released by liongate on DVD. The CD is being finished now and will be released by Varese Sarabande very soon.

TOXIC will also get a CD release very soon too by MOVIE SCORE MEDIA.

THE BRIDGE TO NOWHERE is being finished now and will come out on DVD some time this year.

Some updates.

It's been quiet but a few things happening---

I'll be at Kumoricon this weekend (Aug.30-31st) in Portland, Oregon. I've never been to Portland before and I'm also excited to meet up with a friend there. It should be a blast--- if you're in that area, come on by! There will be a screening and a autograph session..

After that, I am working on the CD release of my score to TOXIC. It's a cool electronic score but has a very orchestral feel to it towards the end--- Movie Score Media will be releasing it for me.. I'll let you know more details as they develop.

Updates

Photo from last year's Dark Delicacies signing.
(Watch out for the Frankenstein statue, he gets grabby).

Well, I knew when I started this Blog it would be updated less frequently than my main web site (Scott Glasgow Music MAIN WEB SITE which I also manage) but this where I am more personal and speak my mind about exciting events, etc.

CD SIGNING:
The big event is a instore CD signing at Dark Delicacies in Burbank on June 28th, 2008 at 2 pm.. I'll be there many other composer, etc.. More info on The Robotech News page and the Dark Delicacies web site. Come down if you are in town. It's good to see friends and make new ones at these events.

REVIEW OF BONE DRY:
A GREAT review of my CD to Bone Dry came out on Music From The Movies.. It really makes much more proub of my score for that film after reading Michael Beek's review.. It's really astute..
Check it out here: BONE DRY REVIEW - MUSIC FROM THE MOVIES.

TOXIC DVD RELEASE:
The movie I scored last year called TOXIC (dir. Alan Pao - Starring Tom Sizemore, MasterP, Dominque Swain and so many others!) is coming to DVD on July 7th! This is a cool movie,, sort of "undefineable".. Sort of a cross between Tony Scott (Domino) cutting with creepy elements of The Sixth Sense.. Again-- impossible to describe but it is a thriller.. My score is electric but sounds orchestral in many places.. It feature live flute and saxophone solos on top of my sample work.. It's a cool score. There should be a digital download only release on itunes shortly. The DVD is gonna be at Amazon and in all rental places..

MOTEL 5150:
I scored a cool little short film called "Motel 5150" for Brian Delizareaux and produced by Caroline Liechtenstein. It is sort of a lost "twilight zone" episode and I scored it that way.. Fun. Check it out here: Motel 5150

NEW STUDIO:
And finally, I have moved my studio in with my buddys at Tunnel Post. This is a post house that handles color correction, editing, film scaning and bunch of other film post needs.. I am the only composer there which is great and I am around many new and old director friends.. This is a long time in the making and I thrilled to be there with them. The studio is coming together great! I will finally have a machine room for all my computers and a great environment for working. I am right down on the 3rd street "Promenade" in Santa Monica, California. Those who know this area, know it is very cool-- close to the beach and pier, lots of shops and restaurants, outdoor musicians, and just great bustle! I very excited. This is gonna be a good change.

Still looking for work but I feel something new is coming soon (I hope). The rest of my time will be spent on small projects and mastering THE GENE GENERATION for release. That's everything for now.
